You may be wondering why Ana is not the one writing this blog post or why it's a little different to her style. Don't worry I haven't completely taken control of her blog, or have I? Ana has asked me to write a guest blog post, and it would have been very silly of me to say no. So if you do not know who I am, which you most likely don't, then hi my name is Patricia Alexandra and I also have my own blog 'The Hidden Letter', although it hasn't been active for a while... If you have been living under a rock for the past three weeks or so, which is cool if living under rocks tickles your pickle, then you would have not realized that MAC’s latest celebrity collaboration launched on the 12th May 2016. ‘Finally Free’, developed in collaboration with Caitlyn Jenner, has an aim of its own as it sits outside the Viva Glam Family, but still shares the same charity principles. In case you’re unfamiliar with MAC’s charity principles, all of the lipstick’s RRP value (excluding VAT) goes directly to help the transgender community in the UK.

If I am going to be completely honest with you, I’ve never been a massive MAC kind of girl. Sure, most of their products are lovely, and they’re not exactly a high-end brand, but it is not the brand I reach out for. However, I have always been a supporter of their Viva Glam initiative as most brands’ charity products only donate a fraction of the entire value to their chosen charity. So I was happy to see that this principle has been extended to directly benefit the transgender community, making both the product and the cause quite personal to Caitlyn herself.
Yet, lets address the elephant in the room… the product itself. The lipstick in itself is gorgeous in every way. Not only is it a totally wearable shade, a deep nude with a pretty mauve undertone to it, which has the power to compliment any skin colour, but it’s a cremesheen formula meaning it’s creamy, and extremely comfortable to wear. Caitlyn was extremely smart (for the lack of a better word) in creating such a wearable, everyday shade as I think this will be a shade that people would want to repurchase time and time again, raising as much money as she possibly can for the cause.
